Best Malls in Tbilisi: Shopping, Food and Entertainment Guide (2026)

Tbilisi has a surprisingly good mall scene for a city its size.

Whether you need groceries, a new outfit, a cinema, or just somewhere to escape the heat in summer and the cold in winter, there is a mall for it. I have been to all of them over five years of living here and each one has its own personality.

My personal favourite is City Mall Saburtalo because you can genuinely find almost anything there. But I end up at Galleria Tbilisi most often simply because it is close to the centre and easy to reach by metro. Different situations call for different malls.

This guide covers all six main malls in Tbilisi with honest opinions, transport directions, and everything you need to know before you go.

Quick Comparison: Tbilisi Malls

Tbilisi Mall

Tbilisi Mall is the biggest mall in the city, located on the outskirts along Davit Aghmashenebeli Avenue.

It is a full day destination rather than a quick stop. The mall has a wide range of international brands, a Cinema City for movies, a children’s play area, and plenty of cafes and restaurants. The Carrefour here spans two large floors covering groceries, home goods, electronics, and more. It is the most comprehensive supermarket option in the city.

The downside is the location. The metro does not reach Tbilisi Mall so you need a taxi, Bolt, or marshrutka to get there. Budget around 15 to 20 GEL for a Bolt from the city centre.

💡 Good to know: This is the best mall if you want international brands and a big Carrefour in one trip. Not worth going for a casual browse unless you have a specific reason.

Galleria Tbilisi

Galleria is my most visited mall purely because of its location. It sits right on Rustaveli Avenue in the heart of Tbilisi, connected directly to Freedom Square metro station. You can be inside from anywhere in the centre in under 15 minutes.

It is smaller than the other malls but perfectly formed for a quick visit. The Goodwill supermarket is a highlight, prices are slightly higher than Carrefour but the selection of imported and specialty products is better. There is also a bowling alley and a good selection of cafes.

If you are already in the city centre and need to pick something up or want a coffee and a browse, Galleria is the obvious choice.

City Mall Saburtalo

My favourite mall in Tbilisi.

City Mall Saburtalo in the Saburtalo district has the best overall selection of any mall in the city. It is big enough to find almost anything you need but not so overwhelming that you lose an entire day just navigating it. The combination of clothing stores, a food court with real variety, a cinema, a children’s play area, and the Hypermarket Georgia covering construction, furniture, electronics and home goods makes it genuinely useful for everyday life as an expat.

The Goodwill supermarket here is good for specialty and imported items even if prices run slightly higher than Carrefour.

I find myself here regularly because it covers everything in one trip without the trek to the outskirts that Tbilisi Mall requires.

East Point

East Point is less of a mall and more of an open-air shopping city near the airport.

The entertainment options here set it apart from the other malls: a bowling alley, and a 5D cinema alongside the usual clothing shops. It is a genuinely good option if you have kids or want a day out with activities beyond shopping.

The location near the airport makes it convenient if you are arriving or departing and have time to spare, but it is a significant journey from the city centre.

City Mall Gldani

City Mall Gldani serves the Gldani neighbourhood in northern Tbilisi. It is a local neighbourhood mall rather than a destination worth crossing the city for. If you are staying in Gldani or passing through, it covers the basics well. For most visitors and expats based in the centre it is not a priority.

Tbilisi Central Shopping Mall

Tbilisi Central is conveniently located in the city centre and useful for a quick visit. It is a mid-sized mall with a reasonable selection of shops and food options. Not the most exciting mall in the city but practical for its location.

💡 Tbilisi Mall Tips

Carrefour membership card: Get the free Carrefour member card at Tbilisi Mall or City Mall. It gives you access to weekly promotions and discounts. Takes two minutes to set up and saves money over time.

Goodwill for specialty items: If you are looking for imported products, specific ingredients, or higher-end groceries, Goodwill at Galleria or City Mall Saburtalo is worth the slightly higher prices.

Avoid weekends if possible: All Tbilisi malls get significantly busier on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Weekday mornings are the most relaxed time to visit.

Bolt is cheaper than you think: Even to Tbilisi Mall on the outskirts, a Bolt rarely costs more than 15 to 20 GEL from the centre. Worth it for the convenience compared to figuring out the marshrutka.
